Community Crime Alert - Vehicle Burglaries

Type of Incident Reported: Vehicle Burglaries

Dates/Times of Incidents: January 24-25, 2020

Locations: 270 Galvez (Visitor Lot), 459 Lagunita Drive (TMU parking lot), & 300 block of Lomita Drive.

Suspect Information: In one of these incidents, a witness identified a suspect vehicle leaving the area. The vehicle was described as a gray color Infinity G37 with dark tinted windows.

Additional Details: Thirteen vehicle burglaries have been reported to Stanford DPS over the past 48 hours. The suspect(s) broke windows to gain entry into the vehicles which were locked. The crimes occurred at various locations on campus as listed above.

Safety Recommendations:
The Department of Public Safety is seeking the community’s assistance with preventing crime on campus. Please be attentive to your surroundings when walking around campus, especially in parking lots and garages. If you observe suspicious behavior or activity, call 9-1-1.

Suspicious behavior includes:

· An individual loitering around vehicles, looking underneath or into parked vehicles, or trying door handles.

· Vehicles stopped behind or nearby parked vehicles in a way that could conceal criminal activity.

· A person lying underneath a parked vehicle (as though working on the vehicle).

· Activated car alarms.
